*Nigerians are concerned, hurting and are angry at the senseless killings of Nigerian civilians by Boko Haram and now, also by the Fulani herdsmen or as they are known, Fulani militants. Nigerians feel that much more could be done by the Federal government led by President Buhari to protect civilians and rein in the perpetrators of this wave of violence engulfing parts of this nation.
Children are also not immune from the evil attacks. The herdsmen from the Fulani ethnic group have been carrying out attacks on communities across Nigeria and they mainly operate in the middle belt attacking mainly defenseless civilians to gain control of grazing lands for their cattle.
Benue state has been experiencing herdsmen killing its citizens and destroying properties. The state has been under siege as they have since launched series of attacks against residents in various parts of this once peaceful state. It is widely believed that many are using the terror of being called herdsmen militants to carry out their own atrocities.
President Muhammadu Buhari has again condemned like many times in the past, the recent horrific killings at a Catholic Church in Benue State. Nigerians want to see that their leader has got a grip of the situation. The killings, violence and destruction is unnecessary and should be paid more attention to and brought under control soonest. The bloodshed must cease.
