*Atlanta startup Kompass Events has boosted its leadership team as it continues to scale and integrate more usability into its mobile app.

The event sharing mobile app allows users to share, discover and explore events in their favorite cities. The app has gained considerable traction opening up a need for strong leadership to support growth.

The roles added to the executive team are Calvin Addison who comes in as Chief Financial Officer; Howard Vining joining as Chief Technology Officer; and Martin Hill, VP of Kommunity Affairs.

“I’m extremely proud of the team we’ve put together,” founder and CEO Keith Wilson said in an interview with UrbanGeekz. “These talented brothas bring some serious street cred to the Kompass team.”

“Our CTO is Howard Vining and he is one of the smartest guys I’ve ever met. Howard led the development team of another tech startup that had a very successful exit. He and Calvin Addison, our CFO, have worked together for years on other successful mobile platforms in the event tech space. Adding Calvin to the executive team brings value to Kompass in so many ways. Not only does he serve as our CFO, he is also an extremely talented iOS app developer.  The technical synergy between Calvin and Howard will allow us to move at speed in responding to the never compromising demands of the market.”

“Martin Hill serves as our Vice President of Kommunity Affairs. Martin and I met years ago while we both attended grad school at Clark Atlanta University. With connections all over Atlanta, Martin truly has his fingers on the pulse of the city. His engagement with the community helps us to optimize Kompass to meet the needs of our power users. From a technical standpoint, he spearheaded the eDiploma project, which made CAU the first HBCU in the nation to issue secure digital diplomas for its graduates.”

“I joined Kompass Events because of its innovation in the events industry,” Hill said. “Kompass literally takes the wheel and navigates its users from the start of an event to the finish. With technology ever- changing, Kompass proves that it can adapt to the latest changes offered in the technology arena. Not many apps can allow its users to check-in, rsvp, and navigate to and from the event. So in closing, choosing to be a part of such a great team and organization was a no-brainer.”

Rounding out the team is Keith Wilson’s co-founder and sibling Nathaniel Wilson, who has worked on the project since its inception. He serves as the CIO and brings with him a wealth of experience leading big analytics projects for Deloitte, International Paper, and the Federal Government.

The team has big plans for next year. Kompass has just been accepted onto Ascend 2020, a nationwide accelerator program offered to minority-led startups through a partnership between JP Morgan & Chase, Morehouse College Entrepreneurship Center, and TechSquare Labs.
