*LOS ANGELES – In a continued effort to unite the community and stimulate voter mobilization, Pastor Shep Crawford and The Experience Christian Ministries will host its 2nd “Church at the Park” event on Sunday, October 28, 2018 at Lindsey Park located at 429 E. 42nd Place in South Los Angeles. The event will start at 11:07am and will offer a worship service, food, entertainment, resources, haircuts, face painting, games and giveaways. This event is free to all. Partnering with Pastor Shep are AHF divisions Latino Outreach and Understanding Division (LOUD) and Black Leadership AIDS Crisis Coalition, (BLACC).

Pastor Shep Crawford of the Experience Christian Ministries (ECM) has been busy leading the way to improving the community by taking his congregation beyond the 4-walls of the large church that sits on the corner of 47th Place and San Pedro in South Los Angeles.  The Church is nestled in between two gang territories in an area mostly populated by African American’s and Latinos. It is the goal of Pastor Shep Crawford to help to bring peace and offer a place (the Church) where their voices can be heard so that their needs can be addressed. It is also is goal to help bring resources in the community that would ultimately reduce the crime rate.

Coining the Phrase “Out of the Box, But in the Word”, Pastor Shep is known for his non-traditional, but affective methods of pastoring. Don’t be surprised if you arrive at the church on a Sunday morning for worship and find there is no one there because they are all out in the community cleaning up or out distributing food and praying for people in the parks and on the streets or perhaps they are fellowshipping at the beach.

“I think it is important for you to assess the needs of the community and then become or provide what the people are in need of. And believe it or not, most of the time, they just want to be heard and for someone to care” says Pastor Shep.

The 1st Church in the park attracted more than 900 guests and this time, they are expecting more than 1000 in attendance. There will be a special guest performance by Grammy and Stellar award winning gospel recording artist Brent Jones who will perform his billboard chart topping single “Open your mouth and Say Something” and ECM’s popular Hip Hop Group “Roqk Star”, their award winning praise team “Connection” and many more. Families and individuals from the community and beyond are invited to join in for the days festivities.
