*On Monday (April 23), Hot 97’s morning host DJ Ebro Darden revealed that Kanye West doubled down on his 2016 support for Donald Trump

Ebro spent much of the weekend on Twitter checking West about his latest slavery rant, referring to the rapper as the trolliest of trolls” who on occasion appears to be “cooning for cash.”

The tweet that apparently drew Kanye’s attention was one that suggested Jay-Z and Beyonce may have stopped associating with the troubled lyricist because of his political views, which Yeezy reinforced with his support of conservative pundit, Candace Owens.

Ebro says he was contacted by someone in Yeezy’s camp and invited to discuss the tweet. At some point during their phone conversation, Kanye interjected himself from the background, hollering, “we just don’t want to be out here acting like n**gas!” Ebro says.

According to Ebro, West said: “‘I do love Donald Trump.’ Kanye West, quote, ‘I love Donald Trump…I love Donald Trump.’”

In 2016, West met with the then President-elect and also shared that if he voted in the election, he would’ve voted for the controversial reality star.

The radio vet went on to share how Kanye stood his ground whenever confronted about his controversial views. Towards the end of their discussion, he inquired about where Kanye now stands on the unpopular president.

”Biggest take away from Ebro in the Morning today … Kanye West is still an avid Donald Trump supporter,” Ebro tweeted after disclosing how the dialogue played out on the radio.

“You can process that however you like but if you’re waiting for him to say ‘my bad’ about his Trump statements — don’t hold your breath.”

Meanwhile, on Sunday, Kanye wrote a series of tweets defending his support of black female conservative Candace Owens.

Kanye tweeted:

“The thought police want to suppress freedom of thought… we have freedom of speech but not freedom of thought. People demonize people and then they demonize anybody who sees anything positive in someone whose been demonized. We live in a time where people don’t respect people for being themselves. People respect people for following the general trend and consensus… there was a time when slavery was the trend and apparently that time is still upon us. But now it’s a mentality… self victimization is a disease.”
