*A petition by three of Prince’s six heirs to remove Comerica Bank & Trust as executor of his estate has been denied by a Minnesota judge, citing it’s not in the estate’s best interest.

As previously reported, Sharon, Norrine and John Nelson filed the petition for Comerica’s removal after they found out Comerica had moved the recordings in Prince’s vault from Paisley Park to a secure facility in California. The three other heirs opposed removing Comerica.

Carver County District Judge Kevin Eide rejected the petition on Monday (Dec 18) and instead named retired Minnesota Supreme Court Justice James Gilbert to serve as moderator and mediator between Comerica and the heirs.

Prince did not leave a will when he died in April 2016 of an accidental overdose.
