*From the looks of it, Lamar Odom is well on is way to making a full recovery after a near fatal overdose.
According to TMZ Sports, the former NBA star spent a portion of his weekend hiking with his estranged wife Khloe Kardashian and her sister Kim. The site goes on to point out that Odom’s cognitive functions have returned in a major way as he is able to process thoughts, speak them and carry on conversations.
The improvement is a definite step up from Odom’s previous state, when he was unable to recognize people, including family members for several months after he was rushed to the hospital back in October after being found unconscious at a brothel in Nevada.
Although Odom’s recall has returned, he is not completely recovered, considering that he is still “a bit slow,” has memory lapses and sometimes has problems speaking. Still, those issues are not as major, but quite subtle.
As it stands now, Odom’s goal is to be able to run again. Despite not being at that stage yet, Odom voiced his determination with the belief that he still has a shot at playing basketball again.
With Odom’s progress, TMZ reports that the possibility exists of him living independently in only a matter of months.
