Kenya Moore Explains Why Cynthia Bailey ‘Deeply Hurt Me’ on ‘RHOA’

Kenya, Cynthia

*If you’re keeping up with the shenanigans on “The Real housewives of Atlanta,” then you know Kenya Moore experienced some sort of tween-like melt down over her friendship status with Cynthia Bailey.

Seriously, do grown women argue about their friendship status?

Moore was quite emotional during Sunday night’s episode when it seemed like she was losing her closest “RHOA” friend to returning series star NeNe Leakes. Now, Kenya is opening up about the episode and how she really felt about Cynthia.

As Rolling Out notes, Moore lashed out repeatedly during Sunday night’s episode over Bailey. After she learned Cynthia didn’t choose her to direct her first eyewear commercial – selecting newcomer Kim Fields to helm the project instead – Moore accused Kim of trying to break up their friendship. Later on, Moore confronted Bailey about feeling betrayed after Cynthia told their cast mates that she didn’t consider Moore her BFF – viewing her simply as a friend with no special benefits.

In her latest Bravo blog post, Moore addressed Bailey’s comments and claimed that she was genuinely hurt that Bailey doesn’t consider her a best friend.

“A true friend not only defends you in your presence but in your absence. This is a woman I have adored for over four years and I consider her my sister. When she denied me, it just felt a little too much like rejection, and I’m all too familiar with that. I was surprised and crushed that she would treat me that way. She not only embarrassed me but deeply hurt me. I just hope our friendship is strong enough to withstand this test,” Moore said.

In her latest BravoTV.com blog, Cynthia also reflects on the friend faux pas. “I think the BFF drama was blown way out of proportion,” she writes. “I love Kenya and my relationship with her, but to my knowledge I have never referred to her as my best friend.”

However, Bailey explained that there’s still hope that she and Kenya can strengthen their relationship. “We have become very close friends over the past couple of years, and I look forward to many more,” she said.
