*Turning Point USA, the conservative group founded by the late Charlie Kirk, will host an alternative halftime event to coincide with the upcoming Super Bowl. The organization announced plans for “The All-American Halftime Show,” which will take place during the game on February 8.
The announcement comes amid criticism over the NFL’s decision to feature Bad Bunny as this year’s official halftime performer, a move that has ignited political debate. We reported earlier that the 2026 Super Bowl in Santa Clara, California, is also expected to see an increased presence of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers, according to Corey Lewandowski, a Department of Homeland Security adviser.

Lewandowski reinforced the administration’s immigration enforcement policy, declaring, “There is nowhere that you can provide safe haven to people in this country illegally. Not the Super Bowl and nowhere else.” He added, “We will find you. We will apprehend you. We will put you in a detention facility, and we will deport you. So know that that is a very real situation under this administration, which is completely contrary to what how it used to be.”
Criticizing the NFL’s performer selection, Lewandowski said, “It’s so shameful that they’ve decided to pick somebody who just seems to hate America so much to represent them at the halftime game.” He continued, “But listen, we should be trying to be inclusive and not exclusive. There are plenty of great bands and entertainment people out there who could be playing at that show that would be bringing people together and not separating them.”
Bad Bunny, meanwhile, voiced pride in representing his heritage on one of the world’s biggest stages. “What I’m feeling goes beyond myself. It’s for those who came before me and ran countless yards so I could come in and score a touchdown … this is for my people, my culture and our history,” he said in a statement.
The artist has also expressed unease about performing in the United States, citing immigration enforcement concerns. Speaking with i-D Magazine, he said, “But there was the issue of — like, f—ing ICE could be outside [my concerts]. And it’s something that we were talking about and very concerned about.”
