*Ali Jones may be waging a full legal war with Nelly, but his fellow St. Lunatics are sitting this one out.
TMZ Hip Hop, per a legal letter it obtained that was sent to Ali’s lawyer, reports that the three St. Lunatics – Murphy Lee, Kyjuan, and City Spud – did not give Ali authorization for them to be included in the $50 million lawsuit he filed in mid-September against the “Ride with Me” rapper.
In the suit, Jones claims he and the other St. Lunatics members have been shut out of royalties and profits from Nelly’s Diamond-selling “Country Grammar” album and other various other songs.
In the note, Nelly’s attorney N. Scott Rosenblum stated Murphy Lee, Kyjuan, and City Spud recently retained him and are now demanding to be removed from the suit. If not, Rosenblum threatened legal action.
Sources tell TMZ that the trio are still good with Nelly and were blindsided by Ali’s lawsuit.

Evidence of Nelly’s alliance with Murphy Lee, Kyjuan, and City Spud came when they recently joined the “Air Force One’s” entertainers, Chingy and J-Kwon for a tribute to the evolution of hip-hop during the 2024 American Music Awards.
News of the St. Lunatics dispute over Ali’s lawsuit comes months after Nelly sold 50% of his music catalog in June as part of an alliance with HarbourView Equity Partners.
Believing Ali will come for some of that income, TMZ referenced accusations he made on VladTV about Nelly using drugs, stealing, and “overall being a lousy friend after they started in the rap game together.”
