*Shedeur Sanders, the former Colorado quarterback and potential top draft pick for the 2025 NFL Draft, has come under fire following negative feedback from NFL executives and coaches.
According to the New York Post, Sanders, the son of Pro Football Hall of Famer Deion Sanders, has been a standout player, but not all feedback has been positive. In an NFL Network evaluation by Tom Pelissero, one veteran assistant coach referred to Sanders’ interview as “the worst formal interview I’ve ever been in my life.” The coach criticized Sanders for what he described as “entitlement,” poor body language, and a tendency to take unnecessary sacks. The coach added, “He’s not that good,” further questioning Sanders’ potential.
“He’s so entitled. He takes unnecessary sacks. He never plays on time. He has horrible body language. He blames teammates. … But the biggest thing is, he’s not that good,” said one longtime NFL assistant coach.
Another AFC executive also shared negative feedback, saying that Sanders tried to “dictate” the process and made others feel small during their interview.
“He wants to dictate what he’s going to do and what’s best for him. He makes you feel small,” the exec said.

Despite this criticism, there has been praise for Sanders’ on-field talent. NFC assistant coaches have noted his skills as a passer but emphasized that he needs to improve his physical strength and development.
The reviews come after Sanders’ performance at the NFL Scouting Combine in February, where some observers noted his “brash” attitude and perceived entitlement. NFL Network’s Kyle Brandt, however, strongly disagreed with the harsh comments, calling them “bullcrap” and accusing coaches of trying to create headlines.
“I think the timing is ridiculous … Is it really the worst interview? Or are you just going for a headline?” said Brandt.
“Maybe the vibe you set in the room was critical and maybe Shedeur picked up on that and maybe he was right … because the first second you could, you went anonymously and started spouting off about this player,” he continued.
“I see entitlement in a grown professional who’s going around anonymously destroying young athletes with very personal quotes anonymously as they’re about to realize their dream and become professionals,” Brandt added.
Brandt argued that the coaches’ anonymous critiques were unfair and tasteless, especially as Sanders approaches the realization of his dream to play professionally.
As the 2025 NFL Draft approaches, Sanders’ journey to the next level continues to be met with praise and criticism.
