*Oprah Winfrey captivated onlookers at Ralph Lauren’s New York Fashion Week show, showcasing a remarkably slim physique.
According to MediaTakeOut, insiders report that she’s dropped 40 pounds, now fitting into a size 4, a stark contrast to her heavier days at 237 pounds. “Everyone in her circle knows she’s on something like Ozempic. Oprah has tried everything over the years, but this time the results are insane. She’s kept it off and looks fabulous,” a source shared.
The transformation harks back to 1988, when Oprah revealed a 67-pound weight loss on “The Oprah Winfrey Show” after using the Optifast liquid diet. “For four solid months, I didn’t eat a single morsel of food,” she recalled on her website, The Daily Mail reports. When I started Optifast in July 1988, I was at 212 pounds. By fall, I weighed 145 pounds.” She famously wheeled out a wagon representing “67 pounds of fat” while wearing size 10 Calvin Klein jeans, but later admitted, “two weeks after she returned to real food,” she regained 10 pounds.

Oprah has been candid about her struggles with food and body image, admitting, “I discovered that food – especially corn dogs and chocolate chip cookies with macadamia nuts – could provide a great deal of solace.” She later called the wagon moment one of the “biggest ego trips of my life” and a “big mistake” in a 2011 Entertainment Tonight interview. Her reliance on the liquid diet disrupted her metabolism, setting the stage for future weight fluctuations.
In the early 1990s, Oprah cycled through fad diets like Atkins, Scarsdale, and even the “Banana, Hot Dog, and Egg” plan, but noted, “What I didn’t know is that with each diet, I was starving my muscles, slowing down my metabolism, and setting myself up to gain even more weight in the end.”
Recently, she shared a glimpse of her slimmed-down frame on Instagram, posing with Elizabeth Gilbert’s memoir “All the Way to the River.” Since admitting to using weight loss medication in 2023, Oprah has lost approximately 50 pounds.
