*An exclusive Deadline report has revealed that Jonathan Majors — in his first major film role since his 2023 legal issues — was involved in an on-set accident during production of an untitled action movie in Gaffney, South Carolina.
The incident has since triggered a union strike, producer backlash, and renewed safety concerns.
What Happened on Set
While filming a scene, Majors and co-star JC Kilcoyne accidentally fell through a window, dropping approximately six feet to the ground along with a large sheet of tempered glass. According to Deadline, the glass had been loosely placed in the frame as prep for a different stunt — meant to be shattered later — but was not properly secured or communicated for that take.
Kilcoyne reportedly required stitches on his hands. Majors was not seriously injured. Video footage of the fall, obtained by Deadline, shows actors tumbling out, glass breaking, and crew rushing in.

The Tipping Point for an Already Unsafe Set
The accident was not an isolated incident. Crew members cited multiple safety concerns over the prior five weeks of production, including props falling on workers and general unsafe working conditions.
The IATSE union (International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees) called an official strike on or around March 26, 2026. Several crew members walked off, and a picket line formed. The union also pushed for a contract to secure health and pension contributions — demands that remain unmet.
Producers’ Combative Response
When reached for comment, producers — including Dallas Sonnier of Bonfire Legend — did not deny the allegations. Instead, their statements were deliberately inflammatory:
“We don’t negotiate with communists.”
Earlier, they reportedly said they were too busy “being bad asses, blowing sht up, flying helicopters, and killing movie terrorists” to deal with “four a**holes with signs on the sidewalk and their illegitimate ‘strike.’”
Production is reportedly continuing while they seek replacement non-union crew. The union is discouraging others from crossing the picket line.

Broader Context and Fan Reactions
The film is described as an “anthology sequel” to the 2020 film Run Hide Fight, with Red Dawn and Toy Soldiers vibes. It is produced by The Daily Wire — Ben Shapiro’s conservative media company — which has previously backed projects with actors facing mainstream backlash (e.g., Gina Carano, Armie Hammer).
For Majors, this role was meant to mark a Hollywood comeback after his misdemeanor assault and harassment conviction (he received probation). Fans have reacted strongly online:
“He can’t even get a role in a Tyler Perry production? This is what he has to stoop to? I wouldn’t be shocked to hear of a Rust like situation.”
“wtf is this cheap azz set? … Jonathan Majors truly would have gotten an Oscar. Him doing this sh!tty Daily Wire movie isn’t it.”
No major injuries beyond stitches have been reported, and filming has not fully shut down. But the messy saga — mixing safety failures, labor disputes, and culture-war rhetoric — has turned the production into a flashpoint well before any trailer drops.
