JD Vance Declares ‘No More White Guilt’ at AmericaFest 2025
*Vice President JD Vance made waves on December 21 during his keynote speech at Turning Point USA’s AmericaFest in Phoenix, Arizona. In front of thousands of young conservatives, Vance celebrated the end of federal DEI programs and delivered a bold message: “You don’t have to apologize for being white anymore.”
The comment sparked loud applause and instantly went viral. Vance framed his statement as part of a broader push to remove identity-based policies from government and society, claiming Americans should only be judged by their character—not race, gender, or sexuality.
Vance Targets DEI Programs, Celebrates Conservative ‘Wins’
Vance linked the elimination of DEI efforts to the Trump administration’s second-term agenda. “We have relegated DEI to the dustbin of history, which is exactly where it belongs,” he declared.
He insisted the government no longer treats people differently based on race or sex. His stance echoed recent conservative victories in court rulings, including the end of affirmative action in college admissions.

“Be a Patriot”—Vance Calls for Post-Identity Unity
Vance emphasized that Americans—regardless of background—should not feel shame for who they are. He said people no longer have to apologize for being white, Black, Asian, Hispanic, male, female, straight, or gay.
“The only thing that we demand is that you be a great American patriot. And if you’re that, you’re very much on our team,” he said, positioning patriotism as the new moral standard.
Mixed Reactions: Applause and Accusations of Division
Supporters praised the speech as a long-overdue rejection of “woke” guilt and race-based identity politics. They say Vance is voicing what many conservatives have felt but feared to say publicly.
Critics accused him of fueling white grievance politics. Some viewed his language as racially divisive and dismissive of systemic inequalities. Others warned it may deepen polarization within the Republican Party.
Calls Out College Bias Against Asian Applicants
Vance touched on college admissions, saying Asian Americans no longer have to “talk around” their ethnicity to get into school. He linked this to the rollback of race-based admissions policies.
“We judge people based on who they are, not on ethnicity and things they can’t control,” he said. The remark resonated with many Asian American conservatives who feel they’ve been unfairly targeted by affirmative action.
Honoring Charlie Kirk and Unifying the Conservative Base
Vance honored the late Charlie Kirk, founder of TPUSA, who was assassinated in September 2025. He praised Kirk’s legacy and expressed gratitude to Erika Kirk, now leading the group, who endorsed Vance for 2028.
He also cautioned against infighting within the movement, urging conservatives to avoid “purity tests” over figures like Nick Fuentes and instead unite around core values.
2028 Buzz Grows as Vance Emerges as MAGA Torchbearer
Vance’s keynote speech further cemented his position as a likely frontrunner for the 2028 GOP nomination. With Donald Trump term-limited, Vance is seen by many as the next face of the MAGA movement.
AmericaFest 2025 provided a national stage for Vance to outline a post-Trump vision built on patriotism, Christian values, and the rejection of “identity politics.” Whether that message expands his appeal—or alienates moderates—remains to be seen.
