*A rare pairing of Jay-Z and Eminem has surfaced on a new hip-hop project, marking their first shared appearance since their 2001 collaboration on “Renegade.”
According to Rolling Out, the two artists are featured on an interlude connected to an upcoming album led by Rakim, Kurupt, and Masta Killa. The release is scheduled for August 28 and includes a wide roster of established names across rap.
Excitement around the project grew after executive producer Matthew “M80” Markoff shared a handwritten tracklist on Instagram. The post included both artists’ names and referred to the project as “AOTY 2026.” Markoff later clarified the structure of the appearance. Jay-Z and Eminem do not contribute full verses. Instead, they appear briefly on an interlude honoring Rakim’s impact on hip-hop.
The project brings together multiple generations of artists, including Snoop Dogg, KRS-One, Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, Buckshot, and Daz Dillinger. Their inclusion positions the release as a broad tribute to influential figures in rap rather than a standard collaborative album.
While attention builds around the album, Jay-Z continues to expand his live performance schedule. He recently appeared at the Roots Picnic and has announced additional international shows.
His 2026 tour includes a stop in Paris on September 10 at Stade de France and another in Los Angeles on October 23 at SoFi Stadium. Tickets for both shows are currently available. He also has two upcoming shows at Yankee Stadium in New York: “JAŸ-Z 30” on Friday, July 10, which honors the 30th anniversary of “Reasonable Doubt” (1996), and “JAŸ-Z 25” on Saturday, July 11, which marks the 25th anniversary of “The Blueprint” (2001).
The combination of new music appearances and ongoing touring keeps Jay-Z active across both recorded and live formats as anticipation builds for the collaborative release.
