*Drake has reclaimed the top spot on the charts, surpassing Kendrick Lamar after a long-standing feud.
According to Showbiz 411, his album $ome $exy $ongs 4U, created with PartyNextDoor, has hit number 1, along with his solo single “Nokia.” Another track, “Gimme a Hug,” also made it into the top 100. This comes after Kendrick’s historic Super Bowl Halftime performance, and winning two Grammys for his hit song “Not Like Us.”
Meanwhile, as we reported earlier, Lamar’s halftime performance shattered viewership records and ignited conversation about its cultural impact. While some critics debated the performance’s messaging, one fact is indisputable—Lamar’s show was the most-watched in Super Bowl history, drawing 133.5 million viewers, surpassing even legendary Halftime Shows by Michael Jackson and Prince, TMZ reports.
The performance also gave Lamar’s music a major boost. His streaming numbers skyrocketed, with music analytics platform Chart Data confirming that he holds the record for most monthly listeners for a hip-hop artist on Spotify.
As we reported earlier, Drake attempted to block Lamar’s Super Bowl appearance, even suing Universal Music Group (UMG) for defamation. The Canadian rapper accused his label of playing a role in Lamar’s halftime show selection, claiming they set him up to be publicly humiliated on one of the biggest televised events of the year.

In the lawsuit, Drake alleged that UMG was “intended to convey the specific, unmistakable, and false factual allegation that Drake is a criminal pedophile,” a claim that UMG has strongly denied.
“Not only are these claims untrue, but the notion that we would seek to harm the reputation of any artist, let alone Drake, is illogical,” UMG said in a statement to The U.S. Sun.
Despite the legal threats, the halftime show went on without a hitch, as Lamar included his scathing diss track, “Not Like Us,” aimed at Drake.
