The story begins when a house explodes in a quiet Oxford suburb, leaving a girl missing in the aftermath. Neighbor Sarah Trafford (Wilson) becomes obsessed with uncovering the truth and enlists the help of private investigator Zoë Boehm (Thompson). Their investigation uncovers a complex conspiracy in which people believed long dead are revealed to be alive, while the living find themselves in increasing peril.

The ensemble cast also includes BAFTA Award winner Adeel Akhtar, Nathan Stewart-Jarrett, Emmy Award nominee Tom Goodman-Hill, BAFTA Award winner Darren Boyd, Tom Riley, SAG Award nominee Adam Godley, Sinead Matthews, Ken Nwosu, Fehinti Balogun, and Aiysha Hart.
Produced by 60Forty Films, the series is written by Morwenna Banks, known for “Slow Horses,” who also serves as executive producer alongside Jamie Laurenson, Hakan Kousetta, Tom Nash, Emma Thompson, and author Mick Herron. Natalie Bailey, who directed “Bay of Fires,” is the lead director for the eight-episode series.
“Down Cemetery Road” joins Apple TV+’s acclaimed spy drama “Slow Horses,” which has been renewed for a seventh season ahead of the fifth season premiere on September 24, 2025. Like Banks, who also wrote for “Slow Horses,” the series is based on Herron’s celebrated “Slough House” books and stars Academy Award winner Sir Gary Oldman.
