*Former NFL wide receiver Antonio Brown is at the center of a legal storm after a shooting incident in Miami’s Little Haiti on May 16.
A June 11 arrest warrant charges the 36-year-old with attempted second-degree murder with a firearm, following a brawl outside a celebrity boxing event hosted by streamer Adin Ross. According to court documents signed by Judge Ariel Rodriguez, Brown allegedly punched a man, grabbed a security guard’s handgun, and fired two shots, one grazing the victim’s neck. Brown was detained briefly on May 17 but released after giving his version of events.
On X, Brown claimed he was the victim, stating, “I was jumped by multiple individuals who tried to steal my jewelry and cause physical harm to me. Contrary to some video circulating, Police temporarily detained me until they received my side of the story and then released me. I WENT HOME THAT NIGHT AND WAS NOT ARRESTED.”
He vowed to press charges against his attackers, adding, “I will be talking to my legal council and attorneys on pressing charges on the individuals that jumped me.”
Complicating matters, Brown appears to have left the United States for Dubai. A June 15 X post read, “How TF [the expletive] You go from being victimized unto a attempt to murder, you see they control the media.”

As NBC Sports reports, on Saturday, he wrote, “I’m out the country ain’t no more Child Support tell your mama get a job,” suggesting he may not return soon. Miami Police Chief Manny Morales confirmed detectives are communicating with Brown’s attorney, anticipating his surrender upon returning to Florida.
Video footage captures the altercation, with gunshots audible, though no weapon was recovered during Brown’s initial detention. The warrant sets a $10,000 bond and house arrest pending trial.
Brown’s X posts, including a Malcolm X quote — “The media is the most powerful entity on earth. They have the power to make the innocent guilty and to make the guilty innocent, and that’s power” — reflect his distrust of media narratives. With no moves to execute the warrant, the case remains unresolved.
