Antoine Massey posts viral Instagram video after jailbreak
Escaped inmate Antoine Massey posted shocking videos to Instagram on June 1, 2025, nearly two weeks after his escape from the Orleans Parish Justice Center. The now-deleted videos quickly went viral and drew national attention.
In the footage, Massey claimed he didn’t escape but was “let out” of jail. He also insisted he’s innocent of some of the charges he’s facing, including domestic abuse.
Police raid 7th Ward home linked to video location
Law enforcement raided a home on Agriculture Street in New Orleans’ 7th Ward on June 2. Officials say it’s the location where Massey recorded the Instagram clips.
Although Massey was not found at the house, officers recovered clothing believed to be worn in the videos. The home is less than three miles from the jail he escaped from on May 16.

Video claims innocence, pleads for celebrity help
In the videos, Massey showed papers he claimed prove his innocence. He also made emotional pleas to Donald Trump, Lil Wayne, and Meek Mill for support.
Authorities are still working to confirm whether the documents are real and if the statements Massey made hold any legal weight. The video was online for at least 10 hours before it was flagged by local media and reported to police.
Officials were unaware of video until news outlet shared it
According to WDSU, some agencies had no idea the videos existed until the news station contacted them. This delay has raised questions about how closely fugitives’ online activity is being monitored.
The Orleans Parish Sheriff’s Office and the District Attorneys of Orleans and St. Tammany Parishes have not yet released official responses to Massey’s claims.
Massey’s escape record makes him a high-risk fugitive
Antoine Massey has escaped custody multiple times over the years. His history includes a 2007 juvenile breakout, a 2019 escape from Morehouse Parish, and multiple instances of removing ankle monitors. Authorities believe he was one of the ringleaders of the May 16 escape, which involved inmates breaking through a wall after dismantling a toilet and sink.

FBI offers reward as Massey remains at large
As of June 3, Massey and another escapee, Derrick Groves, remain on the run. A $50,000 reward is being offered for information leading to their arrest.
Police say Massey’s distinctive face tattoos, including chess pieces, make him easy to spot. Still, he’s managed to avoid capture for over 19 days—his longest time on the run yet.
14 arrested for helping Massey and other escapees
Fourteen people have been arrested in connection to the escape, including jail staff and Massey’s girlfriend, who allegedly helped plan the breakout. A jail worker admitted to cutting water under Massey’s threat.
Investigators say Massey used internet phone services to communicate with accomplices and dodge law enforcement surveillance.
Authorities urge Massey to surrender peacefully
Sheriff Susan Hutson is urging Massey to turn himself in. Officials warn he could face even more charges if he continues to evade capture.
Police believe he may still be in the New Orleans area and encourage the public to share any tips anonymously through Crime Stoppers or law enforcement hotlines.
