*50 Cent is finally telling his own story. The Grammy-winning rapper turned media mogul has officially greenlit a three-part docuseries with Hulu, announced in the past few days.
The untitled project marks a significant moment for Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, who has spent decades building an empire from the ashes of near-death experiences. After producing the Netflix docuseries “Sean Combs: The Reckoning” about Diddy, 50 Cent is now stepping in front of the camera for a deeply personal look at his own life.
What the Docuseries Will Cover
The three-part documentary is described as the “definitive” look at 50 Cent’s evolution across music, business, and film. It will chronicle:
- Growing up in South Jamaica, Queens
- Surviving being shot nine times in 2000
- Becoming a Grammy-winning rapper with massive hits like “In da Club” and “Candy Shop”
- Evolving into a media mogul with G-Unit Film & Television, behind hits like the Power franchise
The series will focus on his resilience after the near-fatal shooting, his relentless reinvention, turning adversity into cultural impact, and redefining power and success in entertainment and business.

The docuseries is executive-produced by 50 Cent through G-Unit Film & Television. It will be directed by Mandon Lovett, with Patrick Altema serving as showrunner. The project is co-produced with The Intellectual Property Corporation (IPC), known for music docs like Rap Caviar Presents.
No exact premiere date has been confirmed yet, though it is expected later in 2026.
The $75 Million Bidding War (Real or April Fool’s?)
The announcement gained extra buzz because 50 Cent first teased it on April 1. He posted on social media claiming that Hulu won a bidding war against Starz, Netflix, and Apple for $75 million, along with a supposed TMZ graphic deeming it “the biggest doc deal in years.”
However, no such story was reported by TMZ or any other outlet at the time, leading many to believe it was an April Fool’s joke. Hulu has yet to respond to requests for comment about the figure. While the exact dollar amount remains unconfirmed, the docuseries itself is very real.
Classic 50 Cent
Whether the $75 million figure is accurate or exaggerated, the move is classic 50 Cent: controlling his own narrative in the same way he’s built his career—turning survival, conflict, and hustle into empire-building.
Expect plenty of archival footage, interviews, and his signature unfiltered perspective when the series arrives on Hulu later in 2026.
