*Rapper Soulja Boy, born DeAndre Cortez Way, was arrested in Los Angeles on August 3, 2025. The 35-year-old was taken into custody on suspicion of being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm.
The incident happened during a traffic stop near Melrose Avenue and Genesee Avenue around 2:30–2:50 a.m.
Soulja Boy was reportedly a passenger in the vehicle when officers from the Los Angeles Police Department initiated the stop. During the encounter, police allegedly spotted a firearm inside the car. This discovery led to an on-scene investigation and his immediate arrest.
