Why You Won’t Be Able To Shake The Scary After Watching ‘Abigail’ With Kathryn Newton | WATCH

*Today Universal Pictures “Abigail” leaps into theaters!

The re-imagined of Dracula’s Daughter follows a crew of criminals who kidnap the ballerina daughter of a powerful netherworld boss. The under-creature horror flick features Melissa Barrera, Kathryn Newton, William Catlett, Kevin Durand, and Alisha Weir as the nominative offspring of Mr. De Ville.

We asked the film’s stars how long it takes them to shake off the scary after watching a horror flick.

KN: It’s the visuals [for me], you know what I mean? If there are a lot of gross visuals…I’ll see those visuals when I’m going to sleep. Or in my nightmares.

KD: Different things hit different people. For me, specifically, Paranormal Activity, for some reason, did something to my psyche because it looked like my house. So when I went home and we were getting ready for bed, all of a sudden I heard a sound and I freaked out. I was like, ‘OH, MY GOD!’ And my wife was like, ‘I turned on the dryer.’ So that was it. That was the sound. I thought it was all over [for us]. Movies like Abigail, they’re just funny. That’s why I couldn’t stop laughing. While I was watching the movie, I was laughing out loud, probably where people wouldn’t laugh out loud because there’s something wrong with me.

MB: It depends on the film. I hallucinate sounds sometimes after watching [movies]. I’ll be in my house and hear things and then I’m like, ‘there’s someone in my house right now!’ Then I’ll go under the covers and think I’m safe.

WC: …If someone is going home and still reliving [the film], that means we did a great job of making you feel that way, but then the feeling will slowly come off.
