*Charlamagne Tha God is speaking out about Wendy Williams’ heath battle and cognitive decline as depicted in the controversial new Lifetime doc Where is Wendy Williams?.
Williams’ team recently announced that she was diagnosed with “frontotemporal dementia and aphasia” in 2023 “after undergoing a battery of medical tests.”
The former talk show host has been contending with various other health challenges, including Graves’ disease, lymphedema, and alcohol abuse. Some critics seemingly dismissed it and even called her health struggles her “karma.”
“Remember when Wendy Williams said that Angelina deserved breast cancer for breaking up Brangelina? Damn, Karma remembers,” one person wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
“Idk who needs to hear this but: everything that Wendy Williams has and is going [through] is pure karma. I will not feel sorry for her because it’s the trending thing to do. It’s all well deserved,” another added.
In a recent EURweb article, Journalist Steffanie Rivers wrote, “Wendy Williams built her career as the gossip queen of radio and daytime talk TV. Now her life and cognitive decline are what everyone else is talking about. Is this an issue of ‘what goes around, comes around?’ Another way to put is … is she suffering from karma?”
Charlamage, Williams’ former protégé, called the Lifetime doc “very triggering,” and rejected the notion that her ailing health is karma for her past rude behavior.
“That documentary was very triggering for me as someone who worked with Wendy for three years,” he said, Vibe reports.
“I saw people saying dementia was causing her to talk to people like that. No, y’all shut the hell up. Y’all don’t know what y’all talking about that had nothing to do with dementia,” the media personality continued.
