*The family of Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, Kamala Harris’ running mate, shared a family photo on social media showing their endorsement of Donald Trump for the 2024 presidential race.
According to TMZ, Charles W. Herbster, a conservative who has twice run unsuccessfully for governor in Nebraska, shared the photo online.
Several social media users noted that Tim’s brother, Jeff Waltz, called Tim “dangerous” in an online comment and “not the type of character you want making decisions for your future.”
Jeff does not appear in the newly released family photo. Darlene Rose, mother of the VP candidate, confirmed to TMZ that Walz’s Nebraska-based family members are second cousins to Tim, conservative and devout Catholics. The photo features them wearing ‘Nebraska Walz’s for Trump’ shirts.
TMZ writes, “…there’s some distance between these family members and Walz … but, they aren’t the only family members publicly blasting Walz — with Tim’s bro Jeff telling his Facebook friends last week not to vote for Walz.”
Jeff stated that his political views differ from those of Tim, adding “The stories I could tell. Not the type of character you want making decisions about your future.”
Last month, Walz accepted the Democratic Party’s nomination for vice president at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago, EUR reported.
“It’s the honor of my life to accept your nomination for vice president of the United States,” Walz declared, expressing gratitude to Vice President Kamala Harris for inviting him onto the ticket and acknowledging President Joe Biden for his “four years of strong, historic leadership.”
Walz used his speech to delineate the core values of the Democratic party, presenting a stark contrast to Republican ideologies. “When Republicans use that word [freedom], they mean that the government should be free to invade your doctor’s office, corporations free to pollute the air and water, banks free to take advantage of customers,” he asserted. He went on to say, “But when we Democrats talk about freedom, we mean your freedom to make a better life for yourself and the people you love. The freedom to make your own health care decisions. And, yeah, your kids’ freedom to go to school without worrying they’ll be shot dead in the halls.”
