T-Boz of TLC Battles Abdominal Blockage, Leading to Last-Minute Concert Cancellations | VIDEO

*Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins, the celebrated American singer, songwriter, actress, and cornerstone of the iconic R&B group TLC is currently undergoing medical care following what initially appeared to be a simple case of food poisoning.

Born in 1970 in Des Moines, Iowa, T-Boz rose to prominence in the 1990s as a key member of TLC, alongside Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes and Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas. The group solidified their legacy with hit tracks like “Waterfalls,” “No Scrubs,” and “Creep,” becoming one of the best-selling girl groups of all time.

T-Boz’s influence extends beyond music; she has also acted in various films and television shows, such as “Belly” and “House Party 3,” as well as guest-starring in popular series like “Living Single” and “That 70s Show.” Despite facing numerous personal challenges, including health issues and financial difficulties, T-Boz has demonstrated remarkable resilience. Her advocacy work, particularly in raising awareness for sickle cell disease—a condition she has battled since childhood—has earned her admiration from fans and peers alike.

However, T-Boz’s determination is once again being tested as she finds herself in a hospital due to an abdominal blockage. This unexpected health complication has forced TLC to cancel their planned weekend shows. The group was scheduled to perform at Foxwoods in Connecticut on Saturday and at the New York State Fair in Syracuse on Friday. The cancellations were especially disappointing given that the Friday night show was called off just 30 minutes before it was set to begin.

Initially thought to be food poisoning, T-Boz’s condition was later diagnosed as an abdominal blockage, prompting emergency medical care.

“The doctor verified that this was not food poisoning, but an abdominal blockage. Tionne deeply regrets having to cancel these shows and extends her sincere apologies to all her fans and the event promoters,” says a statement from the group.

As of Saturday night, T-Boz remained hospitalized, and doctors were closely monitoring her condition with the aid of a CT scan to assess the severity of the blockage. The medical team expects she may be released sometime on Sunday, pending further evaluations and her response to treatment, according to a TMZ update.

This recent medical scare comes following other setbacks for TLC’s current tour, which has been fraught with challenges. In May, the group also had to cancel several Canadian shows due to a flu outbreak among tour members. Despite these obstacles, TLC remains committed to reconnecting with its fans and is exploring options to reschedule the canceled performances.

TLC’s last concert before the recent cancellations was on Thursday night in Toledo, Ohio. While it is unclear if anything related to that stop contributed to T-Boz’s condition, fans and well-wishers are hoping for her swift recovery.

Beyond her music career, T-Boz’s resilience in the face of personal and health challenges continues to inspire many. Her ongoing battle with sickle cell disease and her efforts to raise awareness about the condition have made her a beacon of strength and advocacy.

Through all her trials and triumphs, T-Boz remains a beloved figure, proving that the spirit of perseverance can shine through the darkest of times. As TLC navigates these turbulent times, fans eagerly await further updates on T-Boz’s health and look forward to seeing the group back on stage, continuing to share their timeless hits and infectious energy with audiences around the world.

Prayers UP for T-Boz!
