*Despite a recent video raising concerns over his physical well-being, Morgan Freeman is “in fine health.”

RadarOnline detailed the clip, which shows the 86-year-old entertainer looking unsteady while walking around New York City. Freeman struggled with every step while crossing a sidewalk to reach a waiting SUV. The actor was eased into the backseat of the vehicle by an attendant.

Speaking with the National Enquirer, a source shared Freeman’s situation, saying, “Morgan’s health has been deteriorating to the point where he can barely walk on his own — and when he does it’s measured steps.”

“He’s clearly in a lot of pain and everyone is concerned for his welfare,” the insider continued. “But Morgan isn’t one to complain. He gets through it somehow with a grimace. And he never forgets to wave at fans.”

“But the fear is he won’t be able to take much more of this. He’s in constant agony and trapped in his own body,” the source added. “It must be horrible for him.”

Despite concerns for Freeman, his rep revealed to Daily Mail that, “Morgan is in fine health.”

The video featuring Freeman’s struggle is the latest in a series of health-related developments surrounding the “Shawshank Redemption.” star.

The Daily Mail noted Freeman’s struggle with fibromyalgia, a chronic disorder that causes pain and stiffness, in addition to fatigue and depression. The site further stated that the “Wanted” actor is said to have developed the condition after paralyzing his left hand in a near-fatal car crash in 2008. As a result of the crash, Freeman was forced to wear a compression glove to keep his blood flowing.

Four years after the crash, Freeman was interviewed by journalist Tom Chiarella. In his story, Chiarella mentioned the permanent damage Freeman sustained,

“It hurts when he walks, when he sits still, when he rises from the couch, and when he missteps in a damp meadow,” Chiarella described. “More than pain, it seems a kind of agony, though he never mentions it. Despite surgery to repair nerve damage, he was stuck with a useless left hand, stiffly gripped by a compression glove most of the time to ensure that blood doesn’t pool there.”

Last summer, the “The Dark Knight” trilogy fixture health was highlighted again after he reportedly skipped a screening of his Paramount+ series Special Ops: Lioness in London, reportedly due to a contagious infection. In addition to Freeman, the spy thriller stars Nicole Kidman and Zoe Saldana.
