*Inglewood, CA – A joyous and jubilant group gathered at Lavender Blue Restaurant Lounge, 3310 W. Manchester Blvd., Inglewood, California on a cool, overcast day, Thursday, April 4, 2024.

The group of influencers (movers and shakers) is known for creating magic at events. The group consisted of chefs, photographers, videographers, designers, media, event planners, limousine services, caterers, wizards of decor, and productions, as well as local elected officials and longtime patrons of Lavender Blue Restaurant Lounge.

The occasion was Lavender Blue Restaurant Lounge’s 11th Anniversary. Marsha Tekeste, venerable owner of Lavender Blue Restaurant Lounge held a special weekend celebration, Thursday, April 4-Sunday, April 7, 2024. The celebrations commenced with the launch of “Mixin’ Vixen” a unique and innovative mobile bar service, showcasing the spirit of ingenuity and excellence that Ms. Tekeste embodies.

Upon entering the site for the celebration, you realize that this is a casual affair with an upscale vibe. Another testament to the spirit of excellence of Ms. Tekeste.

Father and son duo Devoux Grant and Devoux Grant II were rockin’ the ones and twos with a soundtrack of old school and new school tracks.

The contagious and infectious sounds prompted attendees to bust out some dance moves from back in the day. If you don’t know anything about dances from back in the day, you better ask somebody!

Tebereh Tekeste and Jenifer Cooper circulated amongst the crowd with various trays of gourmet bites: fried chicken, fried shrimp, potato salad, pasta salad, meatballs, cheese and fruit skewers and dessert. The gourmet bites were complemented by beautiful smiles of the servers.

Drink stations provided attendees with complimentary adult beverages of non-alcoholic drinks, beer, mixed drinks and specialty drinks. Kayla Williams served various beers; Lexis Johnson served mixed drinks while Jackie Salcedo generously served out some tasty specialty drinks to the delight of all in attendance.

Inglewood Councilwoman Gloria D. Gray, District 1; City Councilman Alex Padilla, District 2; and City Councilwoman Dionne Faulk, District 4, were in attendance to honor Ms. Tekeste, acknowledging and recognizing her remarkable achievements and her pivotal role in enriching the Inglewood community. The Councilmembers presented Ms. Tekeste a Proclamation. The Office of Los Angeles County Supervisor, Holly J. Mitchell, 2nd District also honored the momentous occasion with a Proclamation.

Ms. Tekeste has significantly contributed to the fabric of Inglewood through her dedication to catering, event production, special community events, feeding the community and maintaining Lavender Blue Restaurant Lounge as a landmark fixture and gem within the community. This special gathering shined the spotlight on Ms. Tekeste for her considerable contributions and in celebration of her enduring legacy.

The celebration continued on Friday, April 5 with the Soul Brothers Blues Band with special guest performers. Saturday, April 6 with Greg Rose Review and concluded on Sunday, April 7, with Sunday Jazz Experience with special guest artists. On a related note, April is Jazz Appreciation Month. This is a great time to visit Lavender Blue Restaurant Lounge to hear and support America’s #1 Art Form- JAZZ!
