*Days after Jake Paul’s uninspired defeat of Mike Tyson, he’s looking at a bigger fish to fry in Russian light-heavyweight competitor Artur Beterbiev.
According to Metro, Beterbiev called out Paul on social media social media star’s much-hyped bout with Tyson, opening himself up to a match.
‘What can you do in the ring against the current undisputed champion?” Beterbiev wrote. “Just know that I am always open to suggestions.”
Not to take his rival’s remarks in silence, Paul came with a reply on Nov, 17, declaring that he is the one who runs boxing.
“Just seen this….top 5 pound-for-pound fighter in the world calling me out,” Paul responded. “Hahahahahaha. 4 years in and I run this sport.”
Paul’s back-and-forth with Beterbiev comes days after the Tyson fight. Despite his victory, the match was a complete disappointment for many boxing fans who felt the event was fixed in Paul’s favor
The negative feedback only adds to the criticism Paul has faced from those who want him to duke it out with a legitimate boxing opponent.
Considering that, Beterbiev serves as a solid challenger. Metro notes the Russian is a serious problem, with his current grip on all the gold in the 175lbs division following his points win over Dmitry Bivol in October being taken to the extreme with that fight Beterbiev stood tall with a 100 percent knockout record his previous 20 opponents who were down for the count.

While Paul has called him out multiple times, the Mexican sports star has ignored him. Yet Paul is confident he will get Alvarez on board for another huge fight to put in his catalog.
‘This moment will prove that I’m the face of boxing,’ Paul recently boasted. ‘The largest attraction, and me vs Canelo at 200lbs for the cruiserweight world title is the biggest fight,” Paul recently boasted.
“It makes so much sense. Canelo’s on his way out, he’s gonna want a payday. And I want to show the world that all the s*** I’ve been talking about beating Canelo is actually true. I will have the biggest upset in the sport of boxing. We will fight to really see who is the face.”
