*Halle Bailey’s boyfriend, rapper DDG, clapped back at right-wing commentator Elijah Schaffer over his offensive comments about the “The Little Mermaid” star.
On Saturday (March 2), Schaffer, a white male, tweeted a photo of Bailey with the caption, “When exactly did Hollywood become flooded with ugly people?”
In a separate post, he compared Bailey to the E.T. alien in the Steven Spielberg movie.
When Bailey’s boyfriend caught wind of the remarks, he dragged Schaffer’s mom, who passed away in 2020 from a rare form of cancer. He also posted an edited picture featuring Schaffer’s mother superimposed onto a blunt.
In an X/Twitter post, DDG responded, “I’m smokin’ on yo’ dead a** mama. That dumb b**ch should’ve got a better doctor.”

One X/Twitter user commented, “Elijah Schaffer can try to hide behind his mother’s cancer but he deserves the humiliation coming at him. Spend time making fun of people’s appearance and you’ll find out – cos no doubt some motherf*cker in your family will not meet conventional beauty standards.”
Another person recapped the drama perfectly, writing:
“Well it looks like Elijah Schaffer found out quickly that the internet doesnt play about Halle Bailey after Schaffer decided to post a side by side comparison of her and E.T..Now this was already met with backlash as many found it to have a racist undertone ..which Schaffer denied ..but that didnt stop her boyfriend and father of her child DDG from swooping in and defending his woman..Not only did DDG key in on Schaffer’s deceased mother as a rebuttal but he relentlessly went at him all night until twitter users had to get context on why DDG was going so hard …Needless to say once users got the context they joined in on defending Halle Bailey which put Schaffers twitter mentions in shambles.”
A third Twitter user noted, “I’ve been on Twitter/X for a long time and I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone get cooked like

Another person took aim at Elijah’s wife, writing on X/Twitter: “Elijah Schaffer’s wife looks like she was born a man. Where’s her feminine qualities? Small breasts, thin lips, narrow hips AND FLAT FUCKING ASS. According to Elijah himself, she thinks Michelle Obama looks like a man. Are we sure Elijah is straight?”
