*We spoke to reality TV Star/entrepreneur Gloria Govan about her commitment to diversity and innovation in the cannabis real estate lending market.
The busy wife and mother is the founder and president of RLNTLSS Brands, a full-service brand and management cannabis agency that partners with celebrity brands, retail collaborations, and business development. The company has partnerships with celebrities like Whoopi Goldberg and Gary Payton.
“Cannabis is my passion and as a long-time entrepreneur working in the business, I know how challenging the barriers to entry can be for minorities and women,” Govan said previously in a statement.
“Identifying women and minority-owned businesses will be a goal for me as general partner and together with Alta II, I hope to pave the way for a more diverse and inclusive future in cannabis,” she added.
Govan was recently appointed General Partner of Alta II, “a leading real estate lender committed to providing innovative and efficient financing solutions to the cannabis sector,” per a new release. Govan brings over a decade of experience to the position and is committed to modernizing and elevating the cannabis space for brands, vendors, and consumers.
According to a news release, RLNTLSS was sparked by Govan’s mother’s diagnosis with breast cancer in 2005. She currently owns 13 vertically integrated licenses throughout Southern California. Additionally, she founded a few other businesses, including Inclusive Wellness, her mission-based skincare brand.
