To address this dating faux pas, Google has partnered with comedian and writer Ziwe to talk about the stigma against Android users’ green text bubbles in the United States, and how it could be potentially costing iPhone users love. In the short film, called “Finding Love with Ziwe,” Ziwe shares that even though Apple recently announced they plan to replace SMS with a more modern technology, RCS, the stigma around green bubbles could remain. As an iPhone user herself, Ziwe discusses her first-hand experience and insight into the pain points created by Apple’s use of outdated technology when texting with Android. In the video, you’ll see single iPhone users who consider green-bubble texts ‘a deal breaker,’ connect face-to-face with Android users who are a potential match.
By asking tough questions, Ziwe gets iPhone users to realize they might be missing out on finding their perfect match because of their green bubble bias.
