*Charlamagne Tha God, co-host on “The Breakfast Club” radio show, has chosen himself as “Donkey of the Day” as he apologizes to Mo’Nique for previously bestowing her with that title.
In response to Mo’Nique’s recent call-out during an interview with Shannon Sharpe on “Club Shay Shay,” Charlamagne issued the apology on Thursday’s episode of the Power 105.1 radio show.
Mo’Nique had referenced the Breakfast Club naming her Donkey of the Day in 2018 when she faced backlash for urging fans to boycott Netflix.
Her call for a boycott came after she was offered a significantly lower pay for a comedy special compared to Amy Schumer, Chris Rock, and Dave Chappelle.
