Denzel Washington’s Eldest Son

Born on July 28, 1984, in Los Angeles, John David Washington attended Campbell Hall School, participating in basketball, football, and track. After graduating in 2002, he pursued football at Morehouse College, graduating in 2006.

He became a part of the St. Louis Rams without being selected in the draft and later played as a running back for the Sacramento Mountain Lions in the United Football League for almost 4 years.

At the age of 7, John David Washington got his initial acting break as a Harlem student in his father’s film Malcolm X. Despite enjoying the experience, he opted to halt his acting pursuits to avoid constant comparisons with his father.

Denzel once motivated his son’s youth football team using lines from Spike Lee’s 1992 movie. He’s happy that John David’s pro football journey ended early, allowing him to switch gears and pursue a career in acting.

Katia Washington and Malcolm Washington

Born on November 27, 1986, in Los Angeles, Katia Washington is a Yale University graduate of class 2010. She chose a private life but aligns with the family tradition, working as a producer for Bron Studios behind the scenes.

Katia collaborated with her siblings on projects, co-executive producing John David Washington’s Malcolm & Marie. In 2022, she served as an executive producer for Breaking, featuring her younger sister Olivia Washington.

Denzel Washington’s youngest son, Malcolm, is Olivia’s twin brother. After four years of playing basketball at Windward School, he continued his studies and pursued filmmaking at the University of Pennsylvania.
