Daniel Cameron, Kentucky’s Former AG, Named CEO of Anti-Woke Organization

*Former Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron has been named CEO of the 1792 Exchange, a conservative organization that aims to challenge “woke capitalism.”

According to its website, the non-profit group claims its “mission is to develop policy and resources to protect and equip non-profits, small businesses and philanthropy from “woke” corporations, to educate Congress and stakeholder organizations about the dangers of ESG (environmental, social, and governance) policies, and to help steer public companies in the United States back to neutral on ideological issues so they can best serve their shareholders and customers with excellence and integrity.”

The 1792 Exchange publishes a “spotlight report,” which analyzes how likely a brand or company will “cancel a contract or client, or boycott, divest, or deny services based on viewpoints or beliefs.”

“I’m honored to serve as the CEO of the 1792 Exchange, where I will continue meaningful work to put an end to the anti-American ESG agenda that threatens to take over our corporations and change the fabric of our country,” Cameron said in a release, USA Today reports.

Cameron served as the attorney general of Kentucky until Jan. 1. In 2022, the Louisville Branch NAACP called on him to resign over his handling of the police killing of Breonna Taylor.

The civil rights organization urged Cameron to step down immediately “for failing to conduct a fair and impartial investigation into the fatal police shooting of Breonna Taylor.”

“The recent federal indictments of four Louisville Metro Police officers involved in the Breonna Taylor killing has highlighted, demonstrated, and proven the insufficiency of the state investigation led by the Attorney General of the Commonwealth and an absence of an understanding of the Commonwealth’s criminal laws,” the NAACP said in a press release at the time BET reported.

Cameron, a Black Republican, ran for governor but lost to incumbent Gov. Andy Beshear.

Meanwhile, Nathan Estruth, founder of the 1792 Exchange, said Cameron is the best person to lead the organization.

“I simply cannot imagine a more capable and qualified chief executive to help us safeguard free exercise, free speech, and free enterprise,” Estruth said.
