*2024 hasn’t been around long, but we’re already getting cliffhanger vibes based on the “9-1-1” season 7 promo teaser. TV Insider cites a newly released promo from ABC that teases a tense situation involving the show’s popular couple Bobby (Peter Krause) said as he and Athena (Angela Bassett).
The pair were last seen heading out on a last-minute cruise in the ‘9-1-1′ Season 6 finale. From there, an explosion on a cruise ship is shown as well as the 9-1-1 call made as the ship goes down.
A helicopter approaching follows, leaving viewers to wonder whether Lucy (Arielle Kebbel) will be seen again, in light of this being how she was seen in the Season 6 finale.
The big question is whether the sinking cruise ship is the one Bobby and Athena are on and might the 118 catch a ride with Lucy if this is, indeed, Bobby and Athena’s ship. The couple, who capitalized on a last-minute cancellation, never let anyone know they were sailing away on a cruise.
Chatting with TV Insider last year in March, Krause teased that the sinking ship could be the one with Bobby and Athena, as the duo missed out on a cruise earlier in Season 6. Adding to the mystery is the issue of what caused the explosion that is sinking the ship.
“Maybe there’ll be a crime to solve on the ship. It’ll be like Agatha Christie or something,” Krause said.
With a big emergency being previewed for the upcoming season, TV Insider noted how it partially lines up with what Oliver Stark told the site in May for Season 7, which premieres at 8/7c March 14 on its new home, ABC.
“I’d like some more big stunts. Those are the things that get me really interested and excited,” he said, regarding what he wants for his character Buck. “I would love to start the season with something big and death-defying and maybe doesn’t quite go as planned and Buck can be injured for a little bit again. It’s my favorite thing to play. So yeah, plenty of pain and suffering.”
