*50 Cent has addressed criticisms regarding his upcoming documentary on Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs.
Although his mentor Dr. Dre has faced past abuse allegations, 50 Cent explained why he feels producing the project is not in conflict. During a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, he was asked about the backlash for covering Combs’ sexual assault allegations while ignoring Dre’s past abuse scandal.
“It’s fine that they would feel whatever they feel because I don’t know what is true or what’s not true about that situation. And these things date back to before I was even signed to Dr. Dre,” 50 explained.
“But this would mean not acknowledging all the things that are positive about him, all the successes I have had and everything, because that’s the time frame we are talking about Look, it may irritate people that have heard that. That’s crazy to think that you would not produce a doc series now based on that as well,” he added.
As The Jasmine Brand reports, Dr. Dre has faced several domestic violence accusations from not only his ex-wife Nicole Young but also former TV host Dee Barnes, singer Michel’le, and Dre’s ex Lisa Johnson, both women have children with the hip-hop mogul.
We reported earlier that Diddy is facing at least nine lawsuits related to various sexual assault accusations. Most recently, former adult film star Adria English took legal action against the Bad Boy Records founder, accusing the disgraced music producer of coercing her into prostitution at his annual “white parties” in New York and Miami between 2006 and 2009.
The woman’s lawsuit names Combs’ Bad Boy Entertainment Holdings, Inc., Vibe Magazine, and Penske Media Corporation for allegedly facilitating the parties.
According to multiple reports, investigators are preparing to bring Diddy’s accusers before a federal grand jury in New York.
50 Cent’s controversial project provocatively titled “Diddy Do It?” has secured distribution on Netflix.
EUR reported previously that the multi-part series has been the subject of an intense bidding war, with numerous networks and streaming platforms vying to air it.
Sources say that Netflix ultimately emerged victorious in securing the rights to the docuseries. While the release date remains under wraps, insiders suggest that subscribers won’t have to wait long to dive into the explosive content, reports TMZ.
The documentary will explore the multiple sexual assault allegations against Diddy.
