*Inglewood, CA’s first and only wine bar, 1010 Wine and Events unveiled a sneak peek of their new dynamic menu created by Le Cordon Bleu Pasadena graduate, Chef Mo Marvel!
Founders Leslie and LeAnn Jones recently hosted a night of food tasting that included salmon crudo, Piri Piri chicken, Prime Beef bavette along with a host of other delicious servings.
The well-rounded variety of dishes were each paired with select Black-owned wines, hand-picked by LeAnn herself.
Each plate brought to the table held its deeming of sophistication that appeared to be more like fine dining but tasted along the lines of food for the soul. Before deep-diving into each dish, Chef Mo appeared and announced the names and fresh ingredients with all the passion a master chef could muster up.
He listed the variety of fresh, roasted, and caramelized vegetables like molasses brown butter carrots, brussel sprouts with cucumber yogurt, and braised chard.
Imagine opening the first Black-owned wine bar in Inglewood, CA, and not realizing its imminent success. That’s the story of Joneses, two sisters who co-founded 1010 Wine and Events with hopes of having a beautiful, quaint spot for family and friends to enjoy.
Leslie says she hadn’t considered how much the residents of Inglewood and neighboring communities would take to the eatery. Entering 1010 Wine takes you on a visual journey of clean, elegant design, but it’s not until you taste the barrage of Black-owned wines and food accompaniment that your other senses are tantalized as well.
1010 Wine and Events has been a venue nestled in the community since opening its doors in August 2021. Patrons come to wine and dine, quite literally. The new menu will officially be available on March 20 for the public to enjoy.
