*Despite efforts to keep her divorce from Iman Shumpert private, Teyona Taylor is less than thrilled over the public light shined on the proceedings.
TMZ cites sources close to the estranged couple who say Taylor is incredibly disappointed and frustrated with Shumpert for making their identities public in a recent court filing in their divorce case.
A private path to divorce was a way for Taylor to protect her kids from the spectacle as well as Shumpert. Hence, the entertainer used their initials when initially filing divorce documents in January.
So much for that strategy.
“We were able to keep this divorce matter private as Ms. Taylor requested for eleven (11) months in this case prior to Mr. Shumpert’s MOTION revealing the parties’ legal names and making the private matter public,” Taylor’s attorney, Tanya Mitchell, wrote in a legal document.
“This matter would very likely still be private if Mr. Shumpert’s MOTION TO SUBSTITUTE TRUE LEGAL NAMES AS REAL PARTIES IN INTEREST was not filed …,” she continued.
Taylor’s divorce comes amid seven years of marriage to Shumpert. Nowadays, the pair are a ways from being how they were. According to TMZ’s sources, Shumpert and Taylor are not living under the same roof, let alone communicating actively. In fact, the sources added that they only talk to each other if it has to do with their two children.
The latest development in Taylor’s and Shumpert’s relationship contrasts with the image Taylor painted when she announced their separation, one of them being on good terms. The divorce stems from accusations Taylor made of Shumpert being a jealous spouse who is annoyed and aggravated with her developing career.
