*Safaree Samuels is rumored to be dating fellow reality TV star Amara La Negra, so the hit up her podcast to clear the air about his wild reputation as a cheater.
“I’m a relationship kind of guy,” the “Love and Hip Hop” star said on Exactly Amara, MadameNoire reports.
“So anytime people see me in the layup line before I go for the slam dunk, It’s like they just picking and choosing what they want to see me with, you know?”
The 41-year-old Jamaican rapper is famously known for being Nicki Minaj’s ex. One person commenting under the podcast clip on Instagram wrote, “he likes to be in relationships, but somehow he’s always cheating.”

Elsewhere in the conversation, Safaree touches on his “wild, rabid sex animal” image. Listen to the podcast via the IG post above. His comments come after Samuels’ ex, Erica Mena – the mother of his two children — slammed him on social media for gifting Amara’s twin babies Rolex watches for their first birthday. Mena called him a “deadbeat clown” who only ever gave his own kids balloons and a birthday cake.
“It’s just very interesting how my kids have NEVER received gifts like this by this waste man. My daughter just turned 3. All she got was a birthday cake and a few balloons in his living room,” Erica wrote on Instagram.
“And please don’t get me started on how he didn’t do anything for my son’s first birthday until two weeks after the fact. And again, that was just balloons in his living room,” she continued.
In 2021, TMZ reported that Erica filed for divorce after Safaree was allegedly caught on camera dancing inappropriately with another woman. That same year, Safaree took to social media to announce he was done with married life and ready to call it quits with Erica.
In the tweet at the time, he said, “I mean this from the bottom of my heart getting married was 1 of my BIGGEST mistakes, ” and added, “and it will never happen again. I’m walking away before I end up in jail over some dumb s**t. Nobody is worth my freedom.”
Mena replied, “Since you always run to social media like a little girl I might as well join in. I absolutely agree with you on this You are the most selfish, vain and inconsiderate person. And not just with me but your only daughter.”
