*Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James stirred up retirement chatter after a post-game interview on Monday.

After the Lakers lost to the Denver Nuggets in the Western Conference Finals, James touched on his NBA future while speaking to reporters.

“We’ll see what happens going forward,” he said, CBS News reports.

“I don’t know,” James added. “I’ve got a lot to think about to be honest… Just for me, personally going forward with the game of basketball, I’ve got a lot to think about.”

Last year, James said he intends to remain an active player until his son, Lebron James Jr., 19, (also known as Bronny) joins the league.

“My last year will be played with my son,” James previously told The Athletic. “Wherever Bronny is at, that’s where I’ll be. I would do whatever it takes to play with my son for one year. It’s not about the money at that point.”

“I see myself being with the purple and gold as long as I can play,” James said in March 2022, USA Today Sports reported. “But I also have a goal that if it’s possible — I don’t even know if it’s possible — and if I can play with my son, I would love to do that. Is that something that any man would want one day in life? That’s the coolest thing that could possibly happen. But that doesn’t mean that I don’t want to be with this franchise.”

On Monday, James told ESPN, “I’ve done what I’ve had to do in this league, and my son is going to take his journey,” he said, CBS News reports. “And whatever his journey, however his journey lays out, he’s going to do what’s best for him… So, just because that’s my aspiration or my goal, doesn’t mean it’s his. And I’m absolutely OK with that.”
