*Nia Long reposted Dr. Yaba Blay‘s scathing video where she spoke truth to power about ‘White Women’ tears. Nia captioned the video, “Where was this level of awareness a year ago @celtics ??? #kathleenlynch.” Her ex-fiancé Ime Udoka, had an affair with a Boston Celtics married staffer while he was head coach of the team, and many sports critics like Stephen Smith felt the organization did not protect Nia when they exposed the scandal to the media. Girl, talk that talk.
Social media came with jokes about Travis Kelce‘s transformation from White sexual chocolate when he dated ex-girlfriend, Maya Benberry to State Trooper Bob O’Neil who is allegedly linked to Taylor Swift. “Went from coming to all the cookouts to calling the cops on them,” wrote one person. Another replied, “He’s gotta match the energy……????.” True, because Taylor gets the bombastic side eye when she previously dated racist Matt Healy, an English singer-songwriter and record producer. Maya also offered some words of advice for the pop star, (girl, she don’t need it, she’ll write a song if they break up) “Taylor [Swift] seems like such a fun girl with a beautiful spirit, so I wish her the best of luck, but I wouldn’t be a girls’ girl if I didn’t advise her to be smart!” Maya, 31, said to Daily Mail. “I’m sure by now she has mastered the ability to see who is there for her — and who is just using her.” She added, “Only time will tell, but like the saying always goes: Once a cheater, always a cheater.” We’re unbothered, but the meme had us cackling.
Bobbi Althoff‘s aloof style of interviewing celebrities has run its course. People did not find her interview style with Offset amusing and wondered why she is always interviewing rap stars and not celebrities from her culture. Journalist Jemele Hill noted, “Believe it or not kiddos, hip-hop journalism actually used to exist.” Now dubbed a culture vulture, many feel Bobbi doesn’t respect Black artists, and members of the Black media are disgusted that Black entertainers would rather go on her platform than sit and talk with them. “Why all these blk men going on her podcast in the first place? They are making her famous and money for no reason,” inquired one person. The YBF blog replied in the comment section, “Questions that need answers. But rarely give black media the time of day. Maybe a YouTuber or two. And that’s it.” Black Hollywood needs to start respecting Black media because we’re the ones that keep you popular and relevant, however, when you fall off people like Bobbi won’t care to keep your name alive.
