*Jeezy is shifting into a confessional state of mind regarding his divorce from former “The Real” co-host Jeannie Mai. He’s also letting the public in on other personal issues that he’s been dealing with.

Chatting with actress Nia Long, the “Put On” rapper addressed the dissolution of the couple’s relationship, revealing therapy was tried before his marriage reached its conclusion.

“This has not been an easy journey. I can tell you that I’m saddened…I’m disappointed…I’m uneasy…God has put me on a different path and that path is going to entail for me to take care of myself. And love myself,” Jeezy told Long during a YouTube special titled, “I Might Forgive But I Don’t Forget,”

“I can only be responsible for myself. I can only do what I can do. I can’t expect someone else to do what I’m doing,” he added.

Jeezy’s comments mark the latest development for him and Mai, who are parents to their infant daughter Monaco. The Jasmine Brand notes the rapper filed for divorce from the 44-year-old television fixture in September after two years of marriage, citing the union was “irretrievably broken.” In addition to filing for divorce, Jeezy filed for joint custody of Monaco.

Further revelations from his interview with Long reveal the molestation Jeezy experienced during his childhood as well as the void left from not knowing unconditional love.

The molestation, Jeezy said, occurred when he was left with an “older” babysitter who touched him in ways that “don’t normally happen to kids.” The action suggested the 46-year-old entertainer was inappropriately introduced to sex, according to The Jasmine Brand.

As the interview progressed, Jeezy explained his mind state of always needing to protect himself, citing regular exposure to violence as a child. In addition, the rapper shared that he lost his brother at an early age

When Long asked how his sibling’s death affected his mother, Jeezy was blunt when labeling his mother’s relationship with him as “very toxic.”

“Me and my mother had a very toxic relationship…I feel like my mother, it came from her not being raised right. Very violent, very verbal, verbal cold…I was kind of on the outside because I looked so much like my father,” he told the “Love Jones” star.

The toxic relationship came to a head for Jeezy after his mother pulled a gun on him when he was around 13. It was then the entertainer said he left his mother’s home with a void of what unconditional love is supposed to feel like.

“As I sit here at 46 … I can’t honestly tell you that I’ve experienced love, especially not unconditional,” the rhymesayer admitted.
