*On Tuesday, June 27th, the Beverly Hills Hotel became the epicenter of glitz and glamour as the Hollywood Unlocked Impact Awards 2023 took place. The red carpet was adorned with an array of stars, including Jason Lee, the Founder of Hollywood Unlocked, singers Chante Moore, Muni Long, Chloe and Hailey Bailey; comedians Michael Blackson and Tiffany Haddish; actor Sarunas Jackson, and music icon Baby Face, among many others. The event was a true celebration of achievement and influence in the entertainment industry.
The Impact Awards, presented in partnership with Enhanced Health, showcased remarkable performances by Chante Moore, Muni Long, and Michael Blackson. Tiffany Haddish, known for her infectious humor, took on the role of the charming host, captivating the audience with her wit and charisma.
Among the notable attendees were Fat Joe, Floyd Mayweather, Evan Ross, Tyrese, and Macy Gray. Vice President Kamala Harris delivered accolades to Jason Lee through a video message and congratulated him on his remarkable success.
“Through your work you inspire young leaders across our nation to tell their story, to pursue their dreams, and to live up to their God-given potential. So thank you for all that you do and all that you are,” said VP Kamala Harris in her address.
The highlight of the evening was the presentation of awards to individuals who have made significant contributions to their respective fields. Catherine Brewton received the Community Award, recognizing her commitment to making a positive impact. Law Roach was honored with the Innovation Award, acknowledging his groundbreaking work in the fashion industry. Chloe Bailey was presented with the Fearlessness Award, celebrating her boldness and unwavering spirit. Whoopi Goldberg received the Social Impact Award, acknowledging her influential presence in the entertainment world. The late Tupac Shakur was posthumously honored with the Culture Award, commemorating his lasting influence on the music industry. Lastly, Baby Face was recognized with the Icon Award, paying tribute to his remarkable career in music.
“To get this award, the word impact comes to mind and to know that I’ve made an impact on other people, it’s a good feeling,” said Baby Face as he received his award.
Not only did Jason Lee orchestrate an evening of celebration, but he also demonstrated his commitment to giving back. During the event, he raised an impressive $100,000 for the Hollywood Cares Foundation, a nonprofit organization he launched in 2022.
The foundation aims to support underserved youth, particularly in brown and black communities, providing them with opportunities for growth and success.
The 2023 Hollywood Unlocked Impact Awards was an extraordinary night that brought together the industry’s finest in a celebration of talent, philanthropy, and achievement.
As the stars graced the red carpet, dined on a 3-course meal, and danced the night away at the afterparty sponsored by Zues Network, the event left a lasting impression and served as a testament to the power of recognition and the spirit of giving back.
