*Garcelle Beauvais sat down with Andy Cohen recently on “Watch What Happens Live,” and said she is still “recovering” after her teen son told her she hasn’t been present enough for him and his twin brother.
“I had to recover when it first happened, and then seeing the clips, now I’m recovering again,” she said of the moment with son Jax, 16, during the season 13 premiere of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,” Urban Hollywood 411 reports.
“It’s hard,” she told Cohen.
“As a child, I would never … talk to my mom like that,” she added but noted she and Jax are in a better place.
“Yesterday he texted me, and I said, ‘The show’s coming out tonight and how do you feel?’ and he said, ‘Mom, we’re in such a better place, I love you so much,’” the former model told Cohen.
She added, “I was like, ‘Can you tweet that? Can you tell the world?’”
Beauvais shares twin sons, Jax and Jaid, with ex-husband Mike Nilon. During a scene with her boys on the RHOBH, the twins discussed how they really feel about splitting their time between their mom and dad’s house.
“We were with dad for like a year,” Jaid said.
Beauvais responded, “I wasn’t gone for a year, I was gone for three weeks.”
As The Blast reports, Beauvais said sometimes her boys push her away.
“I understand where you’re coming from, that you want to be more of a parent to us. But I needed that two years ago, instead of now,” Jax told his mom. “Most of the parenting and teaching me how to live, I know already how to do all that by myself.”
Garcelle said the criticism “makes me feel like a failure.”
