*Fantasia looked like an award herself 😍🥰🏆 as she accepted Variety‘s Power of Women Presented by Lifetime honor on November 16, 2023. As she stood at the dias, ‘Tasia became vulnerable as she spoke about her life’s obstacles, “I’ve been through some things I haven’t been afraid to share. Sometimes we don’t want to share what we go through, but I knew that my tests were part of my testimony, and I knew that my testimony would help a lot of people.” During her touching address, the presence of Leonardo DiCaprio distracted her briefly, and she shouted him out. The Grammy-winner also revealed why she did not want to play the role of Celie again for the musical film adaptation of “The Color Purple,” after her run on Broadway concluded. “I want to thank Celie,” she said. “I didn’t want to play this role again, because I knew this role would bring up some certain things in my life that I thought I was over, but I think I just suppressed. So when they called me I said ‘I cannot do it. I’m married. I’m happy. No thanks.’ But I had to for every young lady who has been through some of the things that I’ve been through. Not even the young ladies, there are some ladies that are a lot older than me that say, ‘Thank you for sharing your story.'” Fantasia ended her speech by encouraging young girls and women to persevere through difficulty, “Every young lady that’s going to go through some things. But it does not matter what you go through, baby. We fall down but we get back up. You Google me. I fell but I got back up!”

Speaking of Leonardo DiCaprio, the Oscar winner celebrated his 49th bday last Saturday at a private residence in Beverly Hills. A Reddit Thread had much to say about his karaoke performance rapping the 1994 song “DWYCK” by Gang Starr and Nice & Smooth. Many internet users called his rendition “cringe,” citing his age, “Leo is literal proof that your growth gets stunted at the age you become famous,” posted one person. Really? Y’all making this assessment of his character because he wants to turn up for being alive another year? Weird flex, but ok. Other comments weren’t so judgy and ageist, “I don’t find this cringe. It’s his birthday party. He’s having fun, and everyone is enjoying themselves,” wrote one person. Another added, “I don’t understand the problem. I would love to turn 49 in a room packed full of people who want to celebrate me and have a good time singing, rapping, dancing, and acting a fool. He looks like he’s having a great time! Good for him.” Let Leo Live; we don’t know how many summers he has left until he meets his Maker.

Megan Thee Stallion attended GQ‘s Men of the Year party, and a reporter asked the Grammy winner to rank the top anime. Megan has long professed her love of anime and felt that the list was unfair because she considered all of them top-tier. One fan made their own ranking list and listed them as such, “1. Attack on Titan 2.My Hero 3. Jujitsu Kaisen 4. Black Clover 5. Hunter X Hunter.” For our Webbies, who are anime fans, how would you categorize them?

Shaunie Henderson‘s daughter Me’Arah O’Neal, who she shares with former NBA player and ex-husband Shaquille O’Neal, celebrated her baby girl signing to the University of Florida to play women’s basketball. “My family was just there to support me. I was pressuring myself to make a decision, but I learned I had to be patient. And I did make this decision on my own,” O’Neal said, according to ESPN. “I went on the Florida visit, and I had a feeling that’s where I belonged,” she said. “And that I was going to be most successful if I went to go play at Florida. I felt like I connected with Coach Kelly more than I connected with any of the other schools that recruited me. She really cares about me, not just on the court but off the court. That’s important for me.” Go Gators!
