Brooklyn Nets guard Cam Thomas has got to give up a whopping $40,000 after being fined for using “derogatory and disparaging language during a live television interview,” the NBA announced Friday. Thomas was doing an on-court interview with TNT and his teammate Spencer Dinwiddie, and he used the term “no homo” after referring to his team as “good-looking.”  The NBAer issued an apology, saying that he “didn’t intend to offend anyone.” The league is still not going to “UN-fine” him, though. They keepin’ that $40K.

Because it apparently matters to some, we gotta pass along the news that Twitter CEO Elon Mus says the legacy blue “verified” checkmark system on the social media platform will soon be abolished. You may recall Musk initially announced his plans to remove the checkmarks back in December, citing that the way in which they were given out was “corrupt and nonsensical.” The blue checkmarks, which launched in 2009, were given to users to indicate “active, notable, and authentic accounts of public interest” verified by the platform, and allows users to distinguish between real and fake accounts
