Dr. Simone Whitmore on 10 seasons of ‘Married to Medicine’ and the Journey of Real Relationships | WATCH

*In the dynamic world of reality TV, longevity is a rare feat. Dr. Simone Whitmore, a cornerstone of “Married to Medicine,” reflects on the challenges and triumphs as the show marks its 10th season.

In an exclusive interview, she opens up about the show’s impact on her marriage, the recent additions to the cast, and the emotional rollercoaster of Lateasha “Sweet Tea” Lunceford’s wedding.

“First of all, being on for ten years, there are so many things I love about our show,” Dr. Simone shares. “I love that America is seeing some real Black doctors on TV now — not make-believe, not through acting, but real Black doctors. We represent such a minority of doctors in this country, and that’s a blessing.”

The reality TV veteran appreciates the platform for showcasing marriage’s highs and lows. “I love that we’re able to show marriage in its good but also its negative sense,” she adds. “A lot of times when we’re having problems, you feel isolated, like nobody else is going through this. But being on this platform helped save my marriage. And for that, I’m grateful.”

Dr. Simone acknowledges the difficulty but emphasizes the educational aspect when asked about the challenges of airing personal issues on a national platform.

“It’s helpful because you also get to go back and see your posture and attitude,” she admits. “This group, my castmates, their husbands, really rallied around me and Cecil. In real life, your friends around you are just trying to keep the peace; they’re not willing to speak up and tell you like it is and that you’re both wrong.”

Reflecting on her growth, she confesses, “I was so stubborn that year, so petty that year. Had it not been for this platform and us at home with nobody getting in our face telling us how petty and stubborn we were, we’d be divorced.”

Season 10 introduced Phaedra Parks and Lateasha “Sweet Tea” Lunceford to the dynamics of the group shift, but Dr. Simone acknowledges the positive impact.

Commenting on the wedding drama, Dr. Simone expresses frustration with Dr. Heavenly’s behavior. “Heavenly speaks her mind. The problem is for you to say out loud that you don’t think somebody should be getting married,” she remarks. Acknowledging the fallout, Dr. Simone believes Heavenly’s mouth got her in trouble, and the consequences are fitting.

Amidst the drama, Dr. Simone also opens up about parenting challenges and her hopes for the audience. “Sometimes I get frustrated with Cecil’s lack of support in managing our children’s finances,” she confesses. Dr. Simone hopes fans walk away from Season 10 with laughter and an appreciation for real-life relationships and friendships.
