Director Matty Rich Unveils Extended Trailer for ‘Birth of the Black Underworld’ – Discusses Turning Film to A Series Eventually | WATCH

*Famed Director Matty Rich has unveiled the extended trailer for his latest film, “Birth of the Black Underworld.” The upcoming film slated to be released in 2024, stars its director Rich as well as  Frank Stallone, Rhonda Morman, Thomas Copeland Jr.

The trailer reveal was followed by a Q&A with the cast, crew, and audience where attendees got to dive deeper into the world of “Birth of the Black Underworld.”

During the Q&A, Rich explained that while “Birth of the Black Underworld” is a film now, he later has plans to turn it into a series.

“I’m shooting the film first,” said Rich. “We’re shooting the film. Then after that will be a series. I’m going to do the film first even though the series is so popular, right? But I want to bring this film back to the place where I began at Sundance. It’s a goal and a passion of mine to go back to where I started with a film. A theatrical release. A motion picture that has the opportunity and the legs become a series.”

However, Rich hyped the film up in a way that’s bound to leave viewers wanting more once those end credits start rolling making a series inevitable.

“But this is going to be one of the most interesting indie-gangsta films you’ve ever seen,” said Rich. “No doubt about it.”

While the film isn’t complete, the first trailer has been released and the cast & crew are excited about 2024 & beyond for the film’s release.

“It’s happening,” said Rich.

While Rich directs and stars in the film, he also hyped up the cast and crew that worked on the film alongside him as well at the trailer’s unveiling.

“If you just trust the people you’re working with, you’ll come up with something like what I just showed you,” said Rich. “The director always gets the credit. When you’re the director. Always ends up with the director. But it takes talented people like this to put it together.”
