Details for Gangsta Boo’s Funeral and Memorial Service Announced

*Funeral and memorial service details for late rapper Gangsta Boo have been announced following her death earlier this month.

As Hip Hop DX reports, a celebration of life will take place in her hometown Memphis on January 13 at Railgarten on Central Avenue. The following day on Jan. 14, a funeral service will be held at Brown Baptist Church on Stateline Road in Southaven, Mississippi.

Producer Drumma Boy took shared details about the homegoing service on Instagram on Sunday (January 8).

“Been a rough 2023 so far but i know you are finally at peace…” Drumma Boy wrote in the caption. “Let us come together as we celebrate our legendary queen, sister, & friend! Thank you @missyeahoe for blessing us with your presence!”

Gangsta Boo (real name Lola Chantrelle Mitchell) was reportedly found dead on Jan. 1, but no cause of death has been disclosed.

Sources connected to the rapper tell TMZ that her death appears to be drug-related. The outlet writes: “We’re told Gangsta was with her brother last night at a local concert in Memphis, and that her sibling started to overdose sometime in the night … requiring hospitalization. While he ended up being okay, our sources tell us that people familiar with Gangsta Boo’s death scene insist narcotics were found on her person and that a fentanyl-laced substance is believed to be at play.”

Police are reportedly launching an investigation into her death.

Gangsta Boo became the second female member of Three 6 Mafia in the mid-1990s. She parted ways with them in the early 2000s to pursue a solo career. She once addressed rumors that members of the group used meth. Check out what she had to say about that in the YouTube clip below.
