*C-SPAN host Greta Brawner apologized to Black Voters Matter co-founder Cliff Albright after a racist caller’s shocking remarks during Sunday’s broadcast.
During an appearance on C-SPAN’s Washington Journal, Albright discussed Black Voters Matter’s role in the upcoming presidential election. A caller named James from Syracuse called into the program and made a pearl-clutching remark during the conversation, Mediaite reports.
The caller stated, “Yeah, I think your guess is concerned about the wrong issues. How about 70% of Black babies are born to single mothers, Black on Black crime in Chicago? But I do agree on abortion rights. I think more Black women should have access to abortions. It would reduce the future prison population.”
Brawner quickly moved away from the caller and apologized for his remarks.

“Cliff Albright, I want to thank you for the conversation this morning with our viewers. I also want to apologize for the viewer and their comments earlier, the offensive remarks that were made,” Brawner stated.
“We don’t certainly condone that. I don’t want, I want to make that clear to you and our viewers. So I apologize for those offensive remarks. We want to have a civil conversation here. And for the most part, we do. So thank you, sir. And apologies,” the host continued.
Albright replied, “No, no, no apology necessary. Thank you so much. It’s a part of the discourse, unfortunately, that’s happening in the country. But thank you so much for that thought.”’
