*Alicia Keys is facing accusations that she is anti-semitic amid the war between Israel and the militant group Hamas.
The global superstar hit up social media Monday to ask fans, “What would you do if u weren’t afraid of anything??? Tell me your truth…”
“I’ve had my eyes on paragliding…👀👀” she added along with two sets of emojis of eyes and the hashtag “mondayenergy.”
The Jewish community is outraged over the post because she references paragliding and Hamas fighters were able to infiltrate Israel’s impenetrable military by using the flying contraptions to attack a “peaceful” music festival.
Some critics even slammed the singer for wearing a green, black, and white jacket – three colors commonly seen on the flag of Palestine.
Keys addressed her controversial post on her Instagram Stories, writing, “The post I shared earlier was COMPLETELY unrelated in any way to the recent devastating loss of innocent lives. My heart has been breaking… I pray for and stand for peace.”
Meanwhile, as Ace Showbiz reports, the advocacy group StopAntisemitism shared a screenshot of Alicia’s post on X, along with the caption: “Is this some sick ode to the Hamas terrorists that infiltrated Israel, killed over 1300 people, beheaded babies, raped women, and kidnapped Holocaust survivors @aliciakeys?”
Israeli-born music manager Guy Oseary came to Alicia’s defense. “There’s talk of an antisemitic post that my dear friend Alicia Keys had up on her instagram. I can confirm to anyone in my [Star of David emoji] community that needs to hear it: it’s NOT true,” he wrote on his own Instagram page.
In reference to her use of the word paragliding, Oseary explained, “There was a specific word in her post that our community at this very painful time find very triggering, but it was absolutely not connected in any way.”
Oseary added, “I spoke to Alicia and she was horrified to learn what the word implied and immediately took it down. Alicia has always been a fighter for all human rights. I’ve had a front row seat for over a decade of seeing her positive influence in the world. Her humanitarian work reflects her empathy and her heart.”
